“There’s someone you should meet.”
A surprising amount of company building starts with that sentence.
Someone introduces you to a future cofounder. An early customer connects you with the person who becomes your biggest account. A friend knows an investor who has been looking for a company exactly like yours.
The introduction takes five minutes. What follows can shape the next five years.
You make something worth bringing into the world, and you build the relationships that help it become real.
Both deserve great tools.
OpenAI and Anthropic are transforming the creation side. It’s becoming easier to turn an idea into a prototype, build a product, and do work that once required a much larger team.
That opens up an extraordinary amount of possibility. It also makes the connection side of company building more consequential.
You can build a product and still struggle to find your first customer. You can have a compelling vision and still be several conversations away from the right investor. You can know exactly whom you need to hire without knowing how to meet them.
Almost everyone building, investing in, or leading a company is looking for what comes next.
A founder needs a customer or an investor. A VC wants to meet the next promising startup. An executive is looking for a hire or a strategic partner. An event organizer needs a sponsor who believes in the community they’re bringing together.
Different opportunities. A familiar question:
Who should I meet next, and how do I get there?
Often, the best path is a warm one.
When someone you trust says, “I think you two should talk,” the introduction carries context. Someone understands enough about both people to see a reason for the conversation. Their judgment gives you a reason to pay attention.
You still have to establish fit, earn trust, and make the relationship worthwhile. But you begin with something to build on.
We already have ways to discover people and see mutual connections. Yet seeing that two people are connected leaves important questions unanswered. How well do they know each other? Would an introduction make sense? Who has enough context to bring them together?
Answering those questions still involves a lot of memory, messages, and chance. You ask around, revisit old conversations, and hope the right person thinks of the right connection at the right moment.
I’ve spent years working on this problem.
At Teamable, we built a warm introduction referral product that helped hundreds of fast-growing companies—including Stripe, Coinbase, Canva, Spotify, Airbnb, and Twitch—hire thousands of people through warm introductions.
We helped companies find paths to their next great hire through the relationships their people already had. We built a business around making those paths work.
Narella takes that experience beyond hiring.
The relationships that help someone find a great hire can also lead to a first customer, a new investor, a business partner, or a conversation that changes their direction entirely.
We’re building Narella to help founders, VCs, and executives find their next opportunity through warm paths—to understand who could help them move forward and how a meaningful connection could begin.
Company building is an act of creation and connection. As AI transforms how we create, we’re building Narella to transform how we connect.
Because behind so many things that eventually exist is a moment when someone said:
“There’s someone you should meet.”
